Dear Dr Ramanaiah,
thank you for asking for my comments.
We all develop philosophies of business and life based on individual perceptions hence it is difficult to have a generally acceptable approach to the decisive factors in modern business environment.
I feel that any approach based on relegion assumes that the recepient of the discourse has a value system based on faith or having grown up in an environment based on religious teaching. While most people would be covered in this category there are many rationalist achivers who are not motivated by religious faith but have an excellent value system based on social logic. I feel that while giving advice this category should not be excluded.
Corruption can be contained and we can get a bit closer to societies in countries like Singapore, Finland and New Zealand by assertive leadership by young people. If they face and show zero tolerence for corruption at every level, changes for the better will start taking place.
We should consider the views of eminent thinkers like Amartya Sen and Lord Meghnath Desai who suggest a missionary reform of the education system, so that the right value sytem gets embedded in young minds by teachers are well paid and carefully chosen to lead by personal example.
We are moving slowly but positively and I laud you for your visionary approach. I am an ordinary technocrat and caanot claim any special wisdom but since you have taken the trouble to ask for my views, I have sent my response.
Warm regards,
Col BK Rai
